John Dingell hospitalized after fall: 'Glad Im not a horse'

Former U.S. Rep. John Dingell, 91, is hospitalized at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. following a fall.

His wife, U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Dearborn, posted on her personal Facebook page Tuesday that he is in good spirits but having trouble putting weight on his left leg, suffering from what doctors believe is a strain of the quadriceps. Nothing is broken, she noted.

If you’re lucky enough to make it to 91 years old, pay attention to where you’re walking. Took a fall and ended up hanging out here at @GWHospital with a bum leg.

Feeling good though. Particularly glad I’m not a horse.

John Dingell served my district well for many years. His wife, who is very well qualified to serve, is serving us (Downriver) well too. She is the grandaughter of one of the Fisher brothers and built a career at General Motors running its foundation. Take care Mr. Dingell!
