It looks like many republican voters are against this tax cut. Thats new. I have been waiting for them to wake up for 35 years.
Once again the Republicans in congress are ignoring math. They believe tax cuts are a cure all. Many of their other policies drive wages down, freeze wages, they hurt seniors, they are driving up healthcare costs. These tax cuts will not change many americans lives.
They will not help me. I work with the disabled, Medicaid. The only thing these tax cuts will do is make me go to my HR department To change my W4.
If something goes wrong with the economy that may be finally the end of trickle down economics. Some republican voters, not all, are catching on. I think they know they have been lied to. A glimmer of hope?

(17,865 posts)will get swamped by other macroeconomic issues (that is probably the Republican's plan all along). An expensive war with North Korea or Iraq will probably lead to economic growth and deficits to fight wars are good --- right.

(16,254 posts)Their media set-up must be powerful. The Hannity, Limbaugh, FOX, et al. crew must be super salesmen or snake oil salesmen to keep them under control for this long.
Wouldn't the awakening be painful?

(5,914 posts)I've watched people fall for the most ridiculous horseshit, over and over and over again. How can they believe it?
I've even suspected some kind of viral, organic dementia is at work. People that I used to think were kind and sensible are now completely enthralled with this pussy-grabbing turd and the chthonian policies he enables. I don't understand any of it. I suppose I never will understand it, since this madness seems to have escaped me.

(16,254 posts)I think Hatch probably nauseated me more than anyone. Does Trump tell them to praise him before they go to the mike?
I have to thank them for the laughs, although they were done with the knowledge I was watching a large percentage of Americans sinking deeper and deeper into the hogs' pen floor, but when Pence said, "President Trump is a man of his word," I lost it! Thank God the windows are closed or my neighbors would think I was being stabbed.

(5,914 posts)You didn't agree to this. You could never even conceive of creating a world so cruel and mean, one that seems to defy all common sense. Yet, here you are. You are along for the ride with all of us.
I know how you feel.
"President Trump is a man of his word." President Trump's word is worthless shit. And that is what he is. This is a true statement.

People keep electing Republicans.
It will stop when people stop voting for Republicans.
This does not end until the American people stop voting for Republicans.
