Trump supporter just hurt my feelings rather badly

Some guy called Steveisfantastic just responded to a 9-week old post of mine on Instagram where I said this:

Must remind you a lot of Donald Trump, Peter, or maybe a more apt comparison is Mussolini. Dark times we are living in.

In reference to a book on Nazi Germany. A deplorable blasted me at the time and I responded back:

The truth hurts. Sorry your hero has just a 33% approval rating. Too bad, so sad.

That was it for 9 weeks until I just got an alert on my IPhone that someone name Steve replied to my months old post with:

Stupid comment. No class.

I’m already having a tough time this holiday season with family stuff and now this guy has me questioning my social adeptness. Was I out of line and classless to post what I did? Was I wrong?

I know it’s just the Internet but consider my already upset emotional state here.

... the usual stereotypical bullshit about how we're all Trump supporters or dumb-rednecks, and that we're dirt poor and live "paycheck-to-paycheck" (just because we live in "trailers" or "double-wides" or "manufactured-housing'').

I and many others challenged (and publicly scolded) this poster, but he never returned to his own thread and never apologized or retracted the broad-brushed smear an insults. Then, when I realized what a judgemental coward he actually was/is, it took some of the sting out of his hurtful comments.

So, yeah, I completely understand... and I can only offer this advice: Your attacker is ALSO A COWARD. A hit-and-run attacker who's probably not even old enough to vote.
