There will be no middle of the road.

History will judge this man and his enablers as either the most far-seeing, enlightened, selfless
administration in history; or as the most destructive, selfish, damaging and anti-democratic.

I'm betting on the latter.

By the end the country was in utter ruins, but at least Hitler and the Nazis were no longer in power. And they moved to a decent Democracy and in the end the country was reunited.

I don't think we'll get lucky enough to have any of that happen. What will happen is that we will decline more swiftly than ever before. Already other countries are beginning to ignore us and do things without us. It's possible that Trump will cease any funding of the UN, which will cause a huge financial crisis for them, possibly to the point of shrinking drastically, perhaps even relocating elsewhere. That's among the things we should be thinking about these days.
