Bend thy knee and genuflect before King Donald I,
by divine right of kings, no one may sass him
harsh words may sting the royal ears and feeweeings
requiring a foot rub and a defenestration.

I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said—“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”
-Ozymandias (P. Shelley)

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. Proverbs 16:18-19 (God)

So we can only hope he is brought down before he can screw things up more than he already has.

The process is difficult, and we allowed Republicans to have control of all three branches of government. Our primary recourse is still almost a year away. I'm not optimistic about a fast resolution to the growing problems that are emerging.

At this point, impeachment seems highly unlikely, given the current Republican toadies in Congress. Even if the Mueller report is damning, I don't think they'll impeach and remove.

It is a bad situation, and one that was predictable a year ago. Many people did predict this kind of situation, but too few were paying attention. They were distracted by relatively unimportant things.

More's the pity...

It's considered unseemly, anyhow.

As I take a realistic look at our prospects going forward, the only hope I can see is that Democrats will finally recognize the horrible mistake that was made at the end of last year and actually get to work on correcting it.

All of what is happening was so preventable. That's the real tragedy here.

If that's what gets him I'll gleefully violate my own rule against grave-dancing, and I'll put on my ruby slippers and get ready to tango. if I could, I'd do the Macarena on the White House lawn. But yes, that's not an outcome we can count on. I just hope the ongoing atrocities of Trumpymandias and his goons create motivation and not despair.

Ozymandias comes to mind immediately. Sadly, we are living in the time of the living Ozymandias. We don't have the luxury of waiting until the statue crumbles.

But Trump had to let Mrs. Newton go this past week, and now he's gotta do Omarosa's job as well as his own.

Trump's really sad there hasn't been a parade for him yet.
