Sen. Collins (R-ME): Press coverage ... "so sexist it's unbelievable"

The promise U.S. Sen. Susan Collins secured from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in exchange for her vote for the GOP tax overhaul fell apart yesterday ...

Collins backed away from what she had called an “ironclad” promise from McConnell to pass a measure before year’s end to temporarily reverse Trump’s order, ending the cost-sharing reductions to insurance companies, which prevent premium hikes for enrollees on the individual markets.

“Majority Leader McConnell has told us that he will uphold his commitment to schedule and support the legislation” next year, Collins said ...
In a separate statement, Collins said she has received yet another promise — this time from House Speaker Paul Ryan, who said the House “remains committed” to passing a bill (next year) ...

Trump said yesterday the health care law had all but been eliminated, casting doubt on the White House’s appetite to fulfill Collins’ promise as well.
“We — I hate to say this — but we essentially repealed Obamacare because we got rid of the individual mandate, which was terrible,” Trump said.

A White House official said yesterday that Trump would be “willing to work with Sen. Collins” on the measure (next year).

Tuesday, when asked by reporters about House Republicans rejecting Collins’ pact with McConnell,
Collins angrily shot back, calling coverage of her negotiations with McConnell
“so sexist it’s unbelievable.”

She is Charlie Brown to McConnell's Lucy with the football. She falls for McConnell's fake promises every time.

He "seduces" her with promises, and then "abandons" her with lies?

I hope the voters in Maine decide to kick her out, and then she'll whine about that too.

Sexism is when you're in a debate and the moderator is tougher on you than he is on your male opponent. Sexism is when they hound you with government investigations, even after you have exited the political stage.

It isn't sexism, Collins. It is just calling you out on your hypocrisy and naivete, the latter which is strange to see in a politician of your caliber.

Naivete', however, usually reduces with years of experience. Clearly it has not with Senator Collins.

believe the "crying woman" could in some instances fall into that category. But I just don't see it here. Crying cuts both ways for the sexes. Indeed cartoonists have had a field day with the trumpster as a crying baby. Sexist? No. Would it be that this country could ever elect a woman as President and in that she acted in ways that our President acts and was depicted as a crying baby, would that be sexist? No. Collins. You just got either played or you just really wanted to play it both ways with your repuke comrades and snow your voters. Either way, your sniveling (sexist?) ain't cutting it with me.
