US reportedly wants a limited strike on North Korea to give Kim Jong Un a 'bloody nose'

The US is reportedly considering a limited strike on North Korea to give Kim Jong Un a metaphorical "bloody nose."
The US has plenty of options for delivering a short, sharp strike against North Korea, and could potentially deny them the ability to test and perfect intercontinental ballistic missiles.
But if the US attacks North Korea, it's gambling that a limited strike won't turn into all out nuclear war.

After months of resolutely declaring the US cannot and will not tolerate a nuclear-armed North Korea, the US is reportedly planning a "bloody nose" attack to send Pyongyang a message.

The Daily Telegraph cited "well-placed" sources within President Donald Trump's administration as saying they had "dramatically" stepped up preparations for a military solution to North Korea.

Those possible solutions include destroying a launch site before North Korea tests a missile or targeting a stockpile of weapons, according to the Daily Telegraph.

"The Pentagon is trying to find options that would allow them to punch the North Koreans in the nose, get their attention and show that we're serious," a former US security official briefed on policy told the Telegraph.

N. Korea has 10,000 + artillery pieces and non nuclear missiles aimed at Seoul and its
surrounding areas.

Russian installed a mad man into the White House. Come on Bob Mueller the world might not
be able to wait.

BTW Kim Jong Un is getting his ICBMs from Putin/Ukraine.

North Korea’s Missile Success Is Linked to Ukrainian Plant, Investigators Say

North Korea’s success in testing an intercontinental ballistic missile that appears able to reach the United States was made possible by black-market purchases of powerful rocket engines probably from a Ukrainian factory with historical ties to Russia’s missile program, according to an expert analysis being published Monday and classified assessments by American intelligence agencies.

snip

Analysts who studied photographs of the North’s leader, Kim Jong-un, inspecting the new rocket motors concluded that they derive from designs that once powered the Soviet Union’s missile fleet. The engines were so powerful that a single missile could hurl 10 thermonuclear warheads between continents.

Those engines were linked to only a few former Soviet sites. Government investigators and experts have focused their inquiries on a missile factory in Dnipro, Ukraine, on the edge of the territory where Russia is fighting a low-level war to break off part of Ukraine. During the Cold War, the factory made the deadliest missiles in the Soviet arsenal, including the giant SS-18. It remained one of Russia’s primary producers of missiles even after Ukraine gained independence.

snip

How the Russian-designed engines, called the RD-250, got to North Korea is still a mystery.

China would stand behind NK if we attacked them first but wouldn't support pre-emptive action from NK.

Beijing is the capital of China, and the power center of China.

Shanghai is the major financial center of China, almost like its own country, and it is about 600 miles from Pyongyang.

Both are separated from North Korea by the Yellow Sea.

China most likely does not want a nuclear action near their major centers of money and power. And most certainly would not be happy with a lot of military action gathering in the Yellow Sea.

Kim is an unstable personality. He could easily panic at the slightest provocation and launch all he has at one time. That would make it more difficult to repel so many so suddenly.

North Korea would perhaps do limited strike on South Korea with (deadly gas) while getting it's missile's ready for the big one! (DUMB IDEA tRUMP) China already stated they would support NK IF WE ATTACKED FIRST.

There can't be more than a few hundreds of thousands of boats big enough to carry something smaller than an econo-van.

Nope no risk at all to the US.
