i'm sure this is the republican way of discouraging union participation...

- We also can't deduct SaLT anymore (which is a big deal in some blue states). This seems like straight up political hit to me against Democrats in California, New Jersey, and New York. State income taxes are how we pay for education, public defenders, infrastructure, etc.
- Assuming Trump finds his way into a second term somehow, his likely Democrat predecessor will face immense pressure to extend the tax cuts in their very first year since they expire in 2025. This will ultimately define that year for whoever is president at the time.

My hunch is,these odds and ends are the Straws that will Break the Camels back with the fence sitters on this Tax Bill. And we know this is just another attack on Unions.

(54,770 posts)had to exceed 2% of income. But, if you are paying for tools, uniforms, etc., one might get an actual deduction.
