One edit: as another poster noted, Fan was his sister, Belle his love. The George C Scott version is my 2nd fave, Patrick Stewart 3rd.

The live action version came out this year with Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) and Dan Stevens (Cousin Matthew, Downtown Abbey), in the title roles. Nicely done. Its on Netflix, I believe.

I love them all. The version with George C. Scott rocks, but if you get a chance to watch the version with Patrick Stuart, do. It's fantastic. He's one of my favorite actors.

Any story that has a ghost (let alone 3 of them) gets thumbs up from 6 year olds. My favorite version is the one with George C. Scott (1984).
