An innocent President welcomes and supports an FBI investigation. Trump attacks them. What is he hiding??

2. No rational person would attack the FBI publically.

Ricvhard Nixon probably would have gotten away with it if he hadn't pissed them off and all he did was appoint a non FBI guy as the head of the FBI. They have unlimited resources and can carry on an investigation indefinitely. Historically they are not above some really sleazy tactics and they havr the power to bring down almost anyone. As LBJ said when he decided to keeep Hoover on:"Better to have him inside the tent pissing out than outside the tent pissing in." Investigations can lead to strange places and it's hard for me to believe that their target hasn't committed quite a few crimes in his business carreer. On the other hand it's Pretty much Republicans investigating Republicans, so I don't expect them to get into his business dealings too much.
