Trump predicts hell start working with Democrats in 2018

After scoring his first major legislative win without a single Democratic vote, President Donald Trump on Friday predicted Republicans and Democrats will begin working together “for the good of the country.”

And the first item the president — who has spent weeks criticizing Democratic lawmakers for opposing his tax plan and accusing them of favoring a government shutdown — sees the parties collaborating on is a massive package to upgrade the country’s infrastructure.

“Infrastructure would be a perfect place to start,” Trump tweeted, just a couple hours before he is slated to depart the White House for his holiday vacation at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. “After having foolishly spent $7 trillion in the Middle East, it is time to start rebuilding our country!”

The latter line is one he has used since he was a candidate for the Oval Office to sell his envisioned plan to rebuild America’s roads, bridges, airports, railways and seaports. He often describes the country’s infrastructure as “crumbling.”

Sure now that you have your tax cuts. But we're really not expecting much since you throw a tantrum at any perceived slight.

the democrats have been pushing infrastructure for YEARS only to be told "no way, we can't afford it" and when trump pushes it, if the dems go along with it, trump will be praised as a great leader for doing so. it is bullshit.

Trump's idea of infrastructure improvements is privatizing many of our public assets.

from the people that brought you no net neutrality comes privitzed infrastructure. oh you want to get to work on time? that's an extra $100 a month to use the freeway. $1 every time you pass through my traffic light, watch this commercial at the stop sign then you will be allowed to proceed!

I am smart enough to not believe a word he or McConnell say for a nanosecond. McConnell said he will be more bipartisan in 2018 too. I think they are looking for a buyer for their bridge for sale.

And the Trump tax cut removes all the money needed to fix infrastructure.

Here’s my thought:

First, repeal the tax cut.

One trillion in infrastructure spending, parceled out by number of roads that need fixed in the state.

Projects must use proven technology.

No privatization.

Priorities: bridges, roads, airports.

No cosmetic work. “We need $100k to repaint an airport terminal” doesn’t get funded. “We need $100k to add a floor to the parking structure” is fundable.

And NO FUCKING WALL!!!

Turn off smart punctuation in your keyboard settings. That fixed my issues with all marks in my title lines. I still typo like crazy, but at least I've got this now.....

Someone on DU streered me.

The Democratic line should be something along the lines of, "We'd be glad to work with our Republican colleagues and this administration at such time as they choose to begin working on behalf of the American people, and not in their own self interest."
