&sns=fbCan you believe that there once was a time when network television aired classy holiday interstitials like this ?
Designed by R.O. Blechman and animated by Willis Pyle. Beautiful , hand-drawn pen & ink drawings.

(9,267 posts)A different time, in many ways worse but in a few ways better.
I remember that Christmas very well, I was 10. We had a blizzard here in PA. it was an unbreakable rule in the family that on Christmas Eve we went to my grandparents, a 3 hour drive away, and stayed a few days for the holiday. Mom INSISTED that we go despite the road conditions. We did. I can still hear my fathers choice words.
Rest In Peace, both of you, and thanks for making our Christmases wonderful. Up to my eyeballs in cooking and wrapping trying to do the same for my kids and grandkids.

(25,383 posts)My dad was in Vietnam, so my mom hauled all of us on a bus to our grandparent's in Florida. We really didn't want to go. We had a hunch it would snow.
We missed our first chance at a white Christmas.
We weren't from NJ. We had previously lived in Seattle and Tokyo, where snow was scarce.

(959 posts)So sweet. And Seasons Greetings was as popular as Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, or anything else. I miss the simplicity of these things.
