Death panels are full speed ahead

I went to a meeting recently about Medicare changes.
Here is my take from the people that were explaining them.
Medicare will become palliative care and hospice for the majority of its recipients. There won’t be any therapy or other treatments that can be accessed except by a very few.
If a senior has any type of mental health diagnosis—that will pretty much disallow any treatments like chemo, RA treatment, etc.
I was talking to my Mom about this and she also works in healthcare. She manages a hospital based therapy center for a large corporation.
She is 70 and very sharp and has absolutely no cognitive issues.
Her doctor “made a mistake” and put dementia as a diagnosis. She threw a fit and he acted like it was a mistake.
But this is how seniors will be pigeonholed to deny them care.
If you are a senior or have a parent that is a senior and they have NO legitimate cognitive issues, watch every single CPT code that is attached to their healthcare because even an innocent “mistake” has the potential to deny them care in the future.

particularly those who think it is a model for single-payer, but even with GOPers in control, that is not going to happen.

Besides, a lot of very rich people make lots of money off healthcare. Even Elizabeth Warren caved on the tax Obamacare placed on medical device companies to help fund the ACA.

But in my job it is important for me to know changes and these are the changes that our facility say are coming.
I hope you are correct but for now, I will believe the experts that they brought in to discuss.

that junk, they need to be shut down.

I'd ask them to provide links to legislation, administrative rule changes, etc., because I'm betting they can't do it.

Sorry.

anything serious. It was tough at first, but I now accept it.

I have worked since I was a young teenager. But now that I am retired, the system thinks I have reached my expiratoin date. And if medical care is going to be rationed, I would rather someone young gets care.

Have no standards. They will allow babies, children, mothers, fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers die to save money and their supporters will continue their support as long as they save the unborn fetuses.

I'm a senior on medicare and there are no changes.
Medicare is not some miraculous, no pay, special care program that some would have you believe. There are co-pays and deductibles. Part B (outpatient) and part D (drugs) have premiums as does supplemental insurance. Vision and dental aren't covered.

But what Medicare covers is in the law, it can't change because some people want it to. It can't cover fewer people, because that's also part of the law.
