When we deny due process and the rule of law, we have lost democracy.

The Mob, led by Kristen Gillibrand, by attacking Al Franken, without an Ethics Committee hearing, has put US closer to this terrible possibility. I so hope Franken reconsiders, but I doubt he will.

Also due process is a legal term. Al Franken isn't facing any criminal or civil charges for groping.

Franken chose to resign. There is no “due process” in the court of public opinion.

He has a six year term, and could have made it clear he wasn’t resigning, it was his choice to not stick it out and get his “due process”

made his own decision. No one *forced* him to resign.

And I don't know about you, but I would have been resolute in that situation, unless, of course, I knew my reputation would not be able to survive the scrutiny of an investigation.
