President Trump's legal team is standing by its prediction that a central part of the probe into Russia's election meddling will conclude quickly.
Trump lawyer Jay Sekulow reasserted in an interview Monday with The Wall Street Journal that the parts of special counsel Robert Mueller's probe involving Trump would end soon, though he did not mention specific dates.
"I know we, collectively, the lawyers, are looking forward to an expeditious wrapping up of this matter," Sekulow told the Journal.
A spokesman for Mueller's team declined to comment for the newspaper's report.
Experts have said it is unlikely that the special counsel's probe will wrap up anytime soon, given the scope of the investigation that has reached into the upper echelons of the White House.
Mueller's team has brought charges against four individuals in the Russia probe, most recently Trump's former national security adviser Michael Flynn, who pleaded guilty on Dec. 1 to lying to the FBI.

I think both me and Trump's lawyers are going to be very disappointed.

(5,914 posts)And you had someone else mail in all your exams for you, I'm guessing you probably don't understand the depth of all the material you're dealing with.
FUN FACT: Cartoonist Charles Schulz actually DID learn to draw from a correspondence school advertised on the back of a matchbook. He even became an instructor for the school before he left and went on to Peanuts fame. So Trump's lawyers aside, not everyone who gets their career training through the mail is a total fuck-up.

(82,849 posts)He's addressing an audience of one, trying to keep the needy, whiny-ass titty baby in the Oval Office pacified. As soon as we pass the Feast of Epiphany, Sekulow is going to need to tap dance all the faster to explain to his client why this investigation hasn't wrapped up.
For the sake of his own bottom line, I hope Sekulow got a very large retainer, because he'll be working for nothing very soon if he isn't doing that already.
