Trump warned by aides he will be impeached if GOP loses the House in 2018 midterms: reportTom Boggioni/Rawstory 29 DEC 2017 AT 06:51 ET
The White House is attempting to shore up staffing once again for the upcoming legislative year as aides and friends of President Donald Trump are warning the president he may face impeachment hearings if control of the House switches hands in the 2018 midterm elections.
According to the Washington Post, Trump is spending the holidays at Mar-a-Lago conferring with close associates and attempting to plan a path for his second year as the dark cloud of special counsel Robert Muellers investigation into Russian collusion with the Trump campaign team looms over his presidency.
Of major concern is inner White House turmoil that has staffers leaving, jobs unfilled and the unpredictable president left alone to his own devices which included a rambling and bizarre interview with a New York Times reporter that showed Trump still has very little grasp of his presidential duties.

(22,047 posts)That seems like a difficult and divisive campaign plan. How does it work?
If Democrats take control of the House, impeachment very well may be brought up but aren't there many other issues to campaign on?

(46,160 posts)1. they arrest/stop any implementation of "the Trump agenda",
and
2. they hold meaningful hearings about Russian interference with U.S. elections and take measures to stop it.
Impeachment would be icing on the cake. As long as Trump is neutralized, I can wait until 2021.
Also: Congress should remove the requirement that the U.S. Postal Service pre-fund retirement/pensions for workers not yet born and allow the entity to start making a profit again.
