I was in NO when it was around 50 and it felt horrible! It is 3 here now going to -10 with wind chill up to-30 (down to rather) if the wind picks up. Not to take away from you, down South close to water feels much worse at that temp than it does here. Bundle up!

We have been having a cold spell here in North Texas, and it is very humid with days of misty overcast.
Sitting here at home with the laptop, ROKU, a nice bowl of spicy chili and a kitty. Now that is the way to spend a cold night.

I finished my chores, came in and thawed out. The feral kitty came for his evening meal, he always comes into the sun room where the other critters cannot get him. I brought him in and noticed that the room was cold. This is the room I keep all my tropical plants, some more than 30 years old and the damned heater in that room is out completely! I will be spending my evening going in and out to try to get enough space heaters around to keep the plants from dying. I cannot move 2 of them, one has grown clinging to the wall and is now covering about 8 feet of wall and window and the others weighs more than I do. Ahhhh, Kansas.

While I wait for the heaters to work, like you I am comfy with my kitties and dogs around. My husband will be home soon and I will likely be asleep by 10:30 if the heaters do the trick. One of my sons gave me a subscription to Hulu for Christmas, sweet kid (33 years old soon) and I am happy. Once the plants are taken care of out comes the wine and down I will go.

Happy New Year to you and all who might come around and read this.

Just spoke with my mom in Baton Rouge. It's supposed to get down to 18 degrees tonight! She had to rush over to help our elderly neighbors cover their plants. Stay warm! Happy New Year.
