Walton FL voters to decide whether to fly Confederate Flag

Walton County Commissioners voted in 2015 to keep the Confederate Flag flying at the Walton County Courthouse.

However, the issue is not dead.

Walton County Democratic Party Chair Margie Jordan asked to have the issue placed on the Dec. 12 BCC agenda and asked the new Board to vote to remove the flag.

"I was a business owner who lost business over that flag," said Jordan. "Our executive committee voted unanimously to put the proposal to commissioners, that along with the black caucus and the black community, as well as a group of progressives and independents we are asking you to vote today to remove all Confederate Flags from County grounds" ...

other than in a historical context, isn't considered treason.

Didn't all those who were part of the Confederacy in a treasonous revolt against the legitimate United States Government?

As a side note, I do not believe that any of the leaders of the Confederacy should ever have been exonerated or had their citizenship restored. Treason is treason. Passage of time doesn't make it less.
