Could A Drug Test Be Part Of Your Physical? Sessions Advisor Thinks It Should.

Every day gets more absurd. Somewhere someplace some GOPPER, official or ally comes up with some dumb shit idea to foist on the rest of us. The idea that you would have to get a drug test to prove you are NOT on drugs or smoking dope is so preposterous. Better yet Sessions advisor want to see laws allowing cops to drug test everyone they stop. Of course there has to be suspicion were it to be for DUI.

Damn, just drug test the entire country while you are at it. So if you smoke dope in a legal state and are caught with residue in a state that prosecutes you are in deep shit. You could end up in jail for years.

We get more into the weeds every day with anyone connected to the GOP.

I didn't care, since I'm not a druggie, but I think such drug tests should be carefully thought out in the first place.

My first job at the hospital was out patient registration. I wasn't involved in patient care. Hypothetically I could have been high as a kite every day, and so long as I could do those registrations who cared? Although I will say that I'm not sure I could have learned that job other than totally sober.

Second job was on the information desk, a rehire as I'd left the first job to do something else for about six months. Again, I needed to pass a drug test. Waste of their money. If I couldn't do that job under the influence, then I couldn't possibly hold any job. But my essential point is that my use of drugs, while it might well impact my ability to do either of those jobs, was not going to affect anyone else.

Very glad I am retired now.

One of the questions they asked (we recently moved here and this was my first physical at new Dr office) was if I took any illegal drugs and I told them I smoked weed 35+ years ago in my youth.. Then I said but if it was legal here I'd do it again because I don't see anything wrong with it. Then the nurse said "neither do i" and I thought, "well damn! I guess I like this Dr office."

So anyway, Fuck Jeff sessions and legalize weed.

if he had suggested that everyone in the country should be able to have a physical. Why not give everyone a test for Hep C as it is more widespread than thought. Just wish he had a suggestion that showed care and concern for people - but no - we need to put more people in jail and fine them!!

been willingly giving up more and more of their rights. Drug testing and property forfeitures are the most egregious.

Ultimately, employers (and government) want to control you off-the-clock time as much as your on-the-clock. Frankly, I am surprised this hasn't happened already...who needs those rights (no unreasonable searches) if you aren't guilty and have nothing to hide. Of course, no one would ever usurp their authority and use it against you.
