Trump is obsessed with re-living the 2016 election, both to remind everyone of its outcome and to justify whatever insecurities he's feeling at any particular moment.

That "commission" goes to the heart of everything that he cares about. It's his white whale, holding out the possibility of discovering the 3+ million voters who, in Trump's demented mind, cost him the popular vote.

There's just no way he would unilaterally dissolve it without any reason. I suppose Kobach isn't going to have the time to stay involved in the middle of the KS governor's race, but it's not like there was much to do in the first place.

Something else must be up (or I may just be unduly paranoid tonight).
