I don't think necessarily that increase in price is due to tax cut is attempt to capture more money from all of us, but perhaps a response to the extreme cold. BUT, I wouldn't be surprised anymore w/ this admin., in that you have a better than 50% chance of being right.

What I waiting for, is for more businesses to be more responsible and pass along savings to wage earners. If not, then I would say that efforts to pass a livable wage across the country would have a more serious chance of passing, after all, what excuse is there left to not raise the living wage?

What in reality I'm afraid of, is that the 1% of the 1% would continue to buy the fewer and fewer assets available for investment, and demand higher and higher prices on their return on investment, leading to more and more inflation on all remaining assets (not wages), while our salaries and pay continue to remain stagnant...just wait...

but when your example is the price of a gallon of gas on 1 day I cant get on board w/ you there. There are many factors in the price of gas, not the least of which is you're on the east coast w/ a blizzard in the region.

Gas here goes up 40 cents a gallon every two weeks then dribbles down a few pennys a day until the next increase. All year for absolutely no reason. Can set your watch on it.

Most peoples Real Estate Taxes jumped more than 3%,and in some States, one hell of a lot more.

Your Cable and TV as well as some Cell Phone plans have raised their prices or added hidden fees. Watch out for ATT&T,out of contract plans are about to get clobbered.

but not until February when the new withholding tables are scheduled to be released.

(Withholding tables are always adjusted when tax laws change, so that people don't have to manually adjust for the change in the law.)

Change your W-4 - make yourself single, remove exemptions, or have your employer withhold an additional amount each pay period.

Personally, I prefer to owe as close to $500 (or it may be $600 by now) as possible - because it means I'm not giving the government an interest-free loan.

(But the changes in the withholding tables will be designed to keep your refund/balance due as close to what it is now as possible.)

But expect to owe tax now instead of my usual small return. Making no change to exemptions will give me a true picture of how much of a joke this so called tax cut is. It's not trickle down now it's more like a slow drip for me while corporations and the rich get Niagara Falls flow.
