What type of President do we need at this time?

We need a statesman. We need a person that is intelligent and knowledgeable about world affairs.

We need a person that can unite our country with uplifting words and optimism.

We need a person that can speak of the future, not just the recent past.

We need a compassionate leader that works for those at the bottom and not just those at the top.

Our country needs to be inspired.

I want to trust their judgement, so I don't have to watch the news daily. I want my regular daily life back.

I pick Presidents like I would choose a surgeon who is operating on someone I love. Trust due to their good judgement.

There will be all kinds of backroom wheeling and dealing before the midterms.
Once it gets out what Mueller has on Trump and his family, he will negotiate a resignation that both parties will eventually go along with as long as Republicans are guaranteed no dirt gets on Pence.

Someone with a certain down-home eloquence who can relate to people outside the beltway

Someone who knows the difference between compromise and selling out

Someone who has actually been inside a boarded-up factory or a school with falling ceiling
tiles

Someone who values diplomacy in foreign affairs

Someone who will walk the streets of Chicago or Flint and talk about outside-the-box
solutions.....and then DO SOMETHING

Someone who has concrete plans formulated to combat drug addiction, homelessness, poverty, outrageously high student loan debts

Someone who is dedicated to helping our veterans, including those with PTSD

Someone who is absolutely committed to civil rights, economic and social justice

Someone committed to ending voter suppression, overhauling our Foster Parent program

Someone with solid public works/infrastructure ideas

Someone who advocates saving things, like: our planet, money, our democratic ideals

Someone who doesn't need a political consultant to decide what he/she should stand for

Someone who would speak nationally about mentoring, volunteering, sacrificing

Someone who prefers honest conversation over talking points

Someone who puts country over party

Someone who sounds sane, and middle of the road. Intelligent, politically experienced, globally savy, who can pass a totally nit-picking ethics test. Throw in some charisma and eloquence, and I think they'd coast into office. Sorry to say, he'd have to be an average white guy to get voters who hated Obama (yes, Repuglicans). We can re-address that issue next time, but first, we have to take back the White House. This person will have to be qualified to undo all the harm Trump has done. Its an emergency.

Not sure who that would be yet. But he could probably bring along a younger firebrand for VP.

Nine years ago, I think Americans were much more open minded. We were ready for a black president. To win now, I think we need a candidate who is the embodiment of "normal". Obama stood for hope and unity. This person will have to stand for sanity and the comfort zone of where this country is now.
