Every American student should learn his history, Congress should issue a formal apology. This open wound should be worn around the neck of anyone who votes Republican in perpetuity. The movie needs to be made as SOON as possible. I hope they identify those who died in the attempt to disclose Trump and his treason. Unfortunately the final chapter has not come to pass.

they often cast younger (and presumably they would show some of Steele’s past work for MI6). Hence my choice of Matthew Goode, who was born in 1978.

Like OP, I love Clive Owen, but I’m not sure this would be the role for him (although he has played MI6 types before). I don’t like Dan Stevens at all (didn’t like him in Downton Abbey and even less since he left — his self-consciousness on camera really annoys me).

I think I’d vote for Matthew Goode, who is a sensational actor and has the handsome look and debonair swagger appropriate for the Steele role. Goode has turned in some outstanding performances (opposite Colin Firth in A Single Man for just one example — I love Firth too but he’s too old for this role — even though he’s closer to Steele’s real age. Goode is an ideal candidate). IMHO of course.

He looks pretty damn good in photos but even better while moving on film:

They are the only filmmakers that can capture criminal ineptitude well enough to tell the tale.

He’s the spitting image. The first time I saw Steele I thought I’d stumbled into a spy mockumentary.
