I'm not sure if they can rubber stamp this or not. A Navy doctor may have some requirements where the health of the president is concerned. I don't know.

Whatever happens, it will be unlike anything we have seen before.

the rest of us. Although he's technically obese and probably has some health issues, he's under constant media scrutiny and there's been no particular indication that Trump has a genuinely serious physical illness. And this physical will not include a mental health exam unless Trump asks for one.

Fwiw, some people here like to ignore evidence of 40 years of bizarre behavior and insist it means Trump must now have Alzheimer's in later years. Imo, ignoring years of evidence of mental disorder is bizarre in itself. But if he also had early Alzheimer's setting in, a brain scan might reveal signs. But unless examination discovers some genuine medically indicated reason for a brain scan, or Trump asks for one, both very unlikely, one will not be performed.

That seems to me to be evidence of a serious physical problem 0f some sort.

I don't believe it was ever explained.

disease to jet lag to a sore toe.

But he's so weird. Perhaps that cart indicated a longing to be safe at home on his golf course. Or perhaps he had a snit because they wouldn't agree to keep others from walking in front of him.

Around the time he announced his candidacy, he talked at length and repetitively how he almost never went outside, and seemed very sincere. Presumably golf was an exception. Fire and Fury said that he's mostly lived in one huge condo in Trump Tower since it was built, holding onto aging decor, not a man fond of change or travel.

I imagine you've heard the good one about the conference call to inform the media about plans for NK by now.

Then there's the one about putting the physician's name on the statement the WH released FOR him, implying he wrote it but misspelling his name...

TV's been off this morning so I don't have more up to date WH jokes.

blasting his own delusions of physical superiority. This is all between him and the White House physician, who is not allowed to comment on any aspect of Trump's health that Trump does not give permission for.

Lol. I can all too easily imagine Trump demanding he be declared the healthiest president this physician has ever examined (I think 3 or 4 including him) and that being refused.

And since I work in health care, it drives me nuts.

I point it out not to be a dick, but to make sure that when other people invoke it (appropriately, as in this case), right-wing assholes don't try to make it look like the person doesn't know what they're talking about.

...I know that whenever doctors encounter a patient of Medicare age, they do a quick cognitive assessment by asking a few questions like “Do you know where you are?” and “Do you know who the president is?”

I have this recurring fantasy that plays out in my imagination, where the doctor at Trump’s physical asks him “Do you know who the president is?”

And dementia Trump blurts out, “Crooked Hillary!”

But nothing about his dementia and referral to see a specialist regarding his cognitive function.

Regan had Alzheimer's in his first three years of office according to one of his sons. It was a very well kept secret. The man was a babbling mess by the time he left office and three years later was "diagnosed." Historians are already seeing that Nancy Regan ran the White House for 4+ years.

I just sent this author an email about perhaps using the same methods they used on Regan, on Trump: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25633673

It proved what many already knew about Regan.
