Its hard to imagine a more angry Trump than a Trump who was planning to go to Mar-a-Lago for a big celebration of himself that would raise a ton of money but who instead is stuck at the White House dealing with political intricacies.

LOL, I'll bet he won't be any fun to be around this weekend.

(22,048 posts)Why can't Trump still go to Florida? What's stopping him? Although the optics might be bad, that's never stopped him.
If there's a shut-down, not all activities are halted. The military stays alert. The Executive Branch will have officials at their desks albeit without their assistants. Air Force One will still be available. Other government functions will continue even though many will be curtailed.
So what would keep Trump from his stupid party?
Incidentally, if he doesn't get to go, for whatever reason, I agree with the OP's suggestion that he'll be pissed. I'd enjoy that and his tweets could be epic.

(17,485 posts)the tickets are nonrefundable and his anger will be tempered by the thought of it. The old bait and switch con.
I also speculate that a Continuing Resolution would have already been passed if he had not been "helping." In other words, he sucks at deals.
His ire will mainly be caused by the lack of adulation the party would provide. It just can't be covered by staff overtime in D.C.

(16,937 posts)he'll go. He does NOT care about image or what any "fake group" thinks about him.
Hey, if he can go golfing on MLK Day, this is only peanuts to him.
