http://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/42776652<snip>
Sandgren, 26, was asked about his social media presence, specifically his activity around the postings of 'alt-right' figures in the United States.
Earlier this month, a video posted by Nicholas Fuentes - who says he attended a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville - was retweeted on Sandgren's Twitter account.
"Who you follow on Twitter, I feel, doesn't matter even a little bit," said Sandgren.
"What information you see doesn't dictate what you think or believe. I think it's crazy to think that. I think it's crazy to assume that.
"To say: 'Well, he's following X person, so he believes all the things that this person believes'... I think that's ridiculous."

(8,438 posts)American tennis player Tennys Sandgren, Pizzagate truther and guy who said Link to tweet
" target="_blank">America cant be racist because it elected a black president, thinks the alt-right has some interesting ideas. This came to light at the Australian Open during todays post-match presser when a reporter asked Sandgren about his social media activity, Link to tweet
" target="_blank">in which he has argued about Pizzagate, agreed with Mike Cernovich about fake news, and wondered why mainstream media wasnt covering spirit cooking, an alleged satanic ritual that Hillary Clinton supposedly took part in.
Recently, Sandgrens Twitter activity included retweeting Nicholas Fuentes, a toady teen white nationalist who last year went to the Charlottesville rally to march alongside Nazis and Klansmen.
BTW, I never heard of this guy because I don't follow tennis.

(269,200 posts)He's from Tennessee and plays tennis and was named after his grandfather who never played the game and was not from there.
Fuck this racist. Hope the South Korean beats him.

(7,820 posts)Hell most likely get Federer next (who would definitely beat him soundly) But yeah, it would be nice to see Chung beat him.

(269,200 posts)although I think that Djokovic elbow is still a problem.

(34,133 posts)I think he might beat able to be everybody. I know it was in the middle of the night and I was off and on asleep but I watched enough to think that he is the future of men's tennis.

(7,820 posts)Djokovic tried hard to claw his way back and couldnt find any real purchase. Chung stayed incredibly cool under pressure and played precisely the right game to beat Djokovic. I think hell be a major force for a while.

(34,133 posts)and I think old Djoker was as well. There was simply nothing he could do. He came to the net and got passed each time, he stayed on the baseline and Chung caught each and every line by quarters of inches. It made me worry for Fed but it is time for a new phenom. If Chung continues like this he will win everything for some time to come. I wonder how he is on clay and grass? I love watching the changes.

(7,820 posts)We really need that next Generation to start taking the stage. There were a bunch a few years younger than Murray/Djoker/Rafa but the never seemed to find their footing and I suspect their time may have passed (It has been a bit crowded at the top for the last 15 years or so 😉 ) but it seems like there are some really promising young players ready to make their mark, and its exciting.
Actually, I don't know what I am going to do with Fed gone. I went from Agassi to Federer but there is nobody right now I actually enjoy watching, all my old fav's are old and women's tennis is just awful. I know some women do not think that but I have yet to find anything to really enjoy about it. It seems I like to pick losers, . Waiting....

(7,820 posts)In womens tennis as well. Theres Serena, and then the rest of the pack. Some standouts- Kerber, Sharapova (although I dont know if well see her at the top of her game again) Madison Keyes and Sloane Stevens are ones to watch.

(34,133 posts)They are either so wonderful, like goddesses and look they will clean up tennis, they will win everything then when they start to struggle as they all do they get lost in the mess. At least I think we have stopped trying to make super models out of all of them. If we would just stop promoting them at maximum level until they get some game under their belts it would likely turn out differently. JMO and I know nothing.

(269,200 posts)I saw no fear but remember Djoka is injured. That said he is much younger than the Fed and damn he can run. I like Nadal to win this one.
