(53 posts)Or industrialization. Capitalism has it's daemons and industrialization requires destruction. Personally, I can not see a point in the future where capitalism and industrialization are completely removed from society. However I think the negatives associated with both will be greatly mitigated. Of course that really depends on who the decision makers and power brokers are....

(18,640 posts)Once upon a time radio stations were owned by many independent companies. The DJs played what they wanted, and innovation and rising talent ruled the airways. When corporations were allowed to swallow up every station in the country, sameness and open payola took over.

(5,764 posts)as it stands directly at odds with the Laws of Thermodynamics. The Law of Conservation states that converting and dispersing matter and energy will never result in a net increase in value. Capitalism also presupposes that the earth's resources and human labor (the only available source of enegy to drive economic activity) are the property of elites, and that they have an imperative to profit from them. The concept of market economics is primitive, illogical, wasteful, destructive, morally illegitimate, and it promptly collapses with minimal scrutiny of its underpinning false assumptions. It's a prime example of humanity's penchant for collective insanity.
