Isolate and pick off his opponents one by one. I watched this take place against each of his dozen and a half GOP opponents. He couldn't fire them, but he could and did get into their heads and under their skins one by one. Then they were gone, until there was only one -- he, Trump.
He could not get into Hillary's head nor under her skin, so he did the next best thing: he cheated like hell, and even then she got 3,000,000 more votes than he did. So now she lives rent free in his head.
This time around, he CAN fire his opponents -- so one by one he destroys their reputations, then their careers, then he isolates them and fires them.
He will do this until there is only one -- Mueller. And then, unless he is stopped, he will fire Mueller.
We are living in very dangerous times.

(90,698 posts)...when he gets to Mueller the protests are going to be massive. Most people are aware that we did not vote for this.

attention. Hopefully Mueller will be that turning tide when millions suddenly wake up as they can focus on his actions.

(13,776 posts)It's a combination of information overload and just being stunned into submission. And a belief that, despite everything we're seeing, nothing like this could really be happening in the United States of America.
I watch only MSNBC and CNN, but out of curiosity I looked at CBS's news site to see what most people are learning about, and the level of outrage just isn't there. It's a bunch of information with no indication of what is really going on, and nothing about the intense partisanship that makes all the difference to how events are interpreted, so I can understand why people who aren't obsessed with this just go "well, we'll see, I'm sure the experts will sort this all out eventually."
