Why else would they be actively participating in the obstruction of justice unless they're covering up crimes that would get them more prison time than an obstruction charge?

For the good of the country, they could have declared themselves "Democrat" and provided the necessary balance this country needs to survive as a democracy.. At the end of the day, we have a Party that can't tolerate the only minimally corrupt. And these folks never had the character to every audition for "A Profile in Courage". Good, lets see the Republican Party further show their real identity.

Maybe not this shit specifically, but when he asked Trump for an interview, he had to a constitutional crisis were a big risk. He knew Trump wanted to fire him.

There's no way Trump will submit to an interview, and there's no way Mueller would just go easy on him. This based on everything I know about Mueller.

It really seems to be the only answer that makes sense. I'm not going with "vast right-wing conspiracy" about this. But, more the unwitting tools of the Russians in the moment and now scared out of their gourds because they realize what they did and how it looks now.

If you look at the behavior from that angle, everything starts to make sense, in its own wicked way. In order to get the party behind him, tRump arranged for quite a few of the Repubs to get an infusion of money in their coffers. That was the grand bargain. Let tRump run his way, the party endorsed him, he gets elected with assistance from the Russians and the politicians get money. So now they are up to their armpits in alligators. tRump is obviously doing some things they like but he is also an embarrassment to the US around the world. But they are stuck with him.

Their moves these past few weeks show signs of desperation. tRump is a loon. But he isn’t so far out on a limb he can’t plot and plan ways to save his sorry ass. He has tasked his lawyers with trying to find anything to get him off the hook for his crimes. In classic blackmail, the Republicans are caught in a trap because they made this bargain. Putin has tRump firmly in his grasp. tRump knows the truth about the Repubs. Ain’t nobody gonna spill the beans publically just yet because the whole scheme will collapse once people start squalling.

Flynn, Manafort, Page and Papadopoulis have done their singing to Mueller behind the scenes to save their sorry asses. Mueller probably has the whole thing figured out with undeniable truth. I hope he drops the hammer on all of them, but in the meantime, tRump thinks he can outfox everyone, including Putin.

If this was not so deadly serious, we could have some fun with possible scenarios how it ends. Unfortunately, it won’t be easy or painless no matter how it all plays out.

Wray just screwed Trump so damn hard, it's gonna leave a mark... and Trump is too dumb to even realize he just got game-set-matched by an appointee who ain't having any of it.

Wray just stole Trump's talking points AND turned up the heat on him.

Even better, Bowditch's elevation entirely earns the trust of the rank and file FBI. They have now seen twice that Wray is on their side not Trump's.

Comey was their homey but now it's Wray all the way.

The most delicious little morsel in this pie to the face is this though...

Chris Wray just sent a 90-decibel message right into Trump's earhole:

"Come after whoever you want. There are a million more behind 'em. There is no stopping the FBI."

So good. So damn good.
