It's folly to assume that impeachment is possible

The odds that the GOP congress will do the right thing and impeach Trump

are nil. And the wolf is at the door for Mueller. I think that our ONLY hope is to go straight for indictment, preferably for money laundering or fraud or a myriad of other crimes he has committed.

I'd like to see (or hear about) what's going on in the Eric Schneiderman (NY AG) investigation. I would hope that he could pick up the ball and start running NOW.

so we're faced with the choice of whether or not to impeach knowing it's "just for show".

6. i agree, but i think they will furiously spin donnie's involvement as peripheral, fabricated,

or whatever.

they will protect donnie until the end of his term.

i think mueller will build make the case about enough others around donnie to make it obvious that donnie was up to his hairplugs in it, but won't indict him, allowing donnie and his protectors to maintain innocence throughout his term.

he won't be allowed to run again, and after he's gone, he'll be abandoned and discarded, at which point the media will be liberated to admit that he was involved and guilty as hell but let's move on, blah blah blah....

8. Who's to stop the NY AG from indicting him for money laundering, or for violations of NY RICO laws?

the supremes might still bottle it up, but it's hard to imagine there isn't a case for money laundering, and probably tax evasion as well, at a minimum.

2. i think indictment will get bottled up in the courts for much of the remainder of donnie's term.

so many constitutional questions, so many ways for donnie's lawyers to delay, not to mention so many opportunities for political 5-4 decisions....

i agree impeachment won't happen. republicans will never, ever go along.

the only way out is for evidence to come out that's so overwhelmingly bad for donnie that the public insists on kicking him out.
at that point, republicans quietly convince donnie to declare victory and resign.

otherwise he's serving out his 4 years. at least.
