FBIs Wray makes clear McCabes retirement tied to IGs Clinton report

FBI Director Chris Wray made clear in a message sent to all bureau employees on Monday night that Deputy Director Andrew McCabe's decision to step aside was a result of forthcoming information to be detailed in an Inspector General report, according to a copy of his message obtained by NBC News.

Wray alluded to having seen aspects of the IG's report into the way the FBI handled the investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private e-mail server.

"It would be inappropriate for me to comment on specific aspects of the IG's review right now," Wray said in the message. "But I can assure you that I remain staunchly committed to doing this job, in every respect, 'by the book.' I will not be swayed by political or other pressure in my decision making."

In the very next paragraph, Wray explained that McCabe had submitted his intention to retire, suggesting a connection between the findings of the IG report and McCabe's decision.

Several sources familiar with McCabe's move said the he made his decision as a result of a meeting with Wray in which the Inspector General's investigation was discussed.

Apparently, McCabe's departure was not related to the GOP memo.

It's unreal how much traction Republicans got with that phony scandal.

Anywho, now it gives Gowdy another reason to re-open the HRC's investigation. Unfortunately, instead of keeping the USA's economy from failing, they rather fuck it up, ignore it and use tax payer's money to investigate bullshit.

"made clear" that McCabes retirement is tied to IG's Clinton report. (I don't think it is tied to the GOP memo either.)
I don't think McCabe has done anything wrong. He just got sick of being attacked by Trump and his shills and decided to take his accumulated leave days and retire even earlier than he planned.

on the election, a number of times.
Rosenstein, tasked with coming up with a genuine excuse for firing Comey, of course charged him with malfeasance related to the election.
McCabe was Comey's deputy.

It never was all about Hillary, of course, although she promised to be a strong president, continuing what Obama had started. The GOP and Russia both desperately needed to defeat the Democrats in congress also because we were blocking the insidious ambitions of both.

For just a little kickoff to memory:
Comey's FBI WATCHED Russia hack the DNC computers for several weeks.
The DNC DID NOT KNOW this was happening all the time the FBI watched.
We all learned only when Wickileaks published the stolen emails right before our convention.

Last night The Atlantic's David Frum spoke of a bizarre, turned-around situation in which the Republicans were using the very FBI actions that secured the election for them as excuses to now purge the FBI to stop investigation into Russia, money laundering, FEC violations, obstruction of justice, and likely even what amounts to treason.

If the IG investigation is critical of Comey and McCabe, but not Rosenstein or Mueller. The Nunes memo is critical of Rosenstein. If they are going to stop the investigation, they need to get at Rosenstein, who has the authority to fire Mueller.
