(13,778 posts)She was convicted of in-person voter fraud. Voted in her precinct and then went to another precinct and claimed to be another person and voted again.
So every time a GOP person talks to me about voter fraud I tell them the story without at first telling them who it was. At the end of the story, I tell them. Usually shuts them up.

(9,426 posts)Once a person is released from prison, he has paid his penalty. He or she, is still a citizen and deserves to have their right reinstated. Of course, if you are a republican, you can get out of prison and run for office on the gop ticket. That mine owner who was responsible for the miners deaths is now running for elected office. Let's hope people do not see the (R) after his name, and vote for him.

(37,748 posts)His excuse may be one of the most creative I've seen this year.
"Curtis claimed during the trial that he signed her ballot while he was suffering from a middle-of-the-night diabetic episode and then unknowingly mailed it in the next day."

My feeling about this - if the crime WAS voter fraud there should be punishment - I have no problem with people who have served time for crime - or probation - voter fraud should be the exception....am I missing something here..??
