GSA employees spending at Trump Hotel

By Cristina Alesci and Curt Devine, CNN
Updated 5:45 PM ET, Sat February 3, 2018

(CNN) An employee for the federal agency supervising the lease for the Trump hotel in Washington spent more than $900 for a stay there last year, according to a document reviewed by CNN -- the first publicly known movement of federal taxpayer dollars into the highly scrutinized business.

The federal employee worked for the General Services Administration, the agency which supervises the lease of the Old Post Office building to the Trump Organization.

The GSA reimbursed the employee for a majority of the charges ... That means taxpayer dollars made their way into the hotel's coffers ...

DH was an accountant for a paper company. He used to have to approve T&Es and it was kind of amazing what people thought they could do. He regularly had to disallow porn channel charges.

They had one moron who thought he could spend whatever he wanted on his company credit card. Would spend big bucks on a lavish dinner--and then tip the waitress 100% of the check! Can't remember how that was handled, but even if they paid it once, you can bet it didn't happen again.

Another time someone's flight was delayed and he didn't want to wait so he rented a car and drove home. The company not only had to pay for a wasted ticket, but also car rental, and mileage, all of which amounted to more than the airline ticket.

Bottom line, when people are spending OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY they really don't care how much.
