I can't believe I have to self-kick this thread.

That might not be entirely true. JFC.

Normally, House debates are time limited.

It's called the "Leadership Minute" in which the leaders can speak beyond the normal time limits. Nancy is using it to the max.

...I figured it was her personal time as Dem Leader.

Any idea what the limitations are? I guess it's over when she relinquishes the floor. I do wonder about a few things as I watch her... like, can she tag-off to other members for questions like the Senate? Stuff like that.

When Rep. Faso kept trying to shut her up by asking "How much time does the gentlewoman have?"

"I have as much time as I need."

This is kind of a big deal, I think. For one thing. she's no spring chicken, tho she's in far better shape than I. Standing there for hours on end has to be quite taxing. Add TALKING and it becomes (in my mind) a very big deal added to what's probably already a big deal stretching the House rules this way.

This is, in short, a House filibuster.

...the impact of women over the decades since court-ordered redistricting has formed the literal heart of our party.

I can see a few of the stalwart women legislators rotating in the seats behind her that I've witnessed transforming our nation over the years with their efforts.

group that Pelosi cares only for her corporate donors. It's discouraging to have to keep fighting THAT stupid fight when there is a REAL enemy intent on dismantling everything we hold dear. Jeez. Hold Dems accountable when they are actually responsible. Speak "truth to power" when they actually have some power. But at this critical moment, UNITE against the actual enemy and support these elected officials who are doing the best they can to stave off complete disaster in this unprecedented, shit-show of a situation.

Are people still whining about that - when we're facing a major threat?

Next it will be "There's no difference between Democrats and Republicans" - while the Democratic Leader stands on the House floor fighting the Republicans with everything she has.

Please. Just stop.
