Democrats will make it all about Trump, and it will be hard to argue with them. They'll argue it's a waste and unbecoming of a U.S. president. Trump, meanwhile, will revel in the controversy it causes and the spectacle, insisting he's just promoting the American military and suggesting that people who oppose it oppose the military. (This will undoubtedly happen.)

It will be one massive troll, complete with tanks and flyovers and marching soldiers. And it will be thoroughly Trump.

Its not about the Military, it's about the Narcissist.

Just like the national anthem. And his core and some others will go along with it, just like the anthem.

4. I don't see the Military saying this is a great idea

A DC parade is vainglorious grandstanding befitting an insignificant tyrant.
If Trump wants to display his support for the troops, he's free to visit them
any time where they are deployed.
And as some said here, it'd be more patriotic to actually care for Vets.

by him and his supporters. And millions will buy it. So we can make fun of it as much as we want but it doesn't change the fact that his bs works for millions.
I would add that many of those are in the military whether we like it or not.

Every Democratic campaign ad will feature split-screens of Trump and his parade, next to Kim Jong Un and his parade, and Putin and his parade.

And they will compare parade sizes.

7. Naw, they'll eat it up.

Depending on how you use "deplorables" of course. If you mean all Trump supporters, it's a wash. Those who don't like it will ignore it (or start thinking of Kremlin style power-fetish parades as something a-okay). Those who do like it will not distinguish between authoritarian militarism and good ol' fashioned 4th of July parades that include boy scouts and the local VFW lodgers.

But if you mean "deplorables" the way Clinton meant it--meaning truly toxic thinkers like white supremicists, neocons, conspiracy nuts, and crypto-fascists on the far right fringe of society--then they will selfjizz right along with Baby Potus.
