Just like Hannity, Limbaugh, McConnell, Ryan, Nunes and the rest, military service is NEVER in the offing ...Now usually I google someone before I declare them chickenhawks, but I didnt this time and I am willing to bet NONE of these I mentioned served.

Just remember: this isn't a parade to honor the military. It's a military parade to honor Trump. Trump wants to waste taxpayer dollars on a military parade to honor himself.

I’m with you, don’t get me wrong. I just have zero faith that anyone even slightly leaning in favor of Trump will care about facts.

When they do something as nakedly stupid as this, we need to stop worrying about appearances and loudly proclaim the obvious: this is some massively stupid clown shit.

I also don't think there's ANYTHING Democrats can do to avoid their bull.

Most Americans know the difference between patriotism and a communist-style military parade.

I don't think he has that much capacity for strategic political strategy. He's essentially a spoiled 7 year-old boy, and he just wants to see a bunch of soldiers and military hardware parade past him and salute.

But instead of taking a tack that looks like Democrats hate the military or something, we can put this all on President Trump and denounce him as a banana republic dictator wannabe. We don't have to engage the parade or the military or anything else Trump wants to make the nontroversy about; we can set our own terms for decrying a spectacularly bad idea.

Most of the popular media actually seem to be on our side on this one.

in that exact amount for VA benefits, job training and tuition waivers for those coming out of the military, and so on. Put it side by side and make the case to the public "do we spend this on a one day parade, or years worth of tangible benefit to veterans?"

A few hundred thousand of us loyal American patriots could go down and watch the parade. We could maybe join our military neighbors and brethren, show our gratitude to them by marching with them. Then we too could salute the president as we go by.

It would be grand!

We can show our support to those that have previously fought, died, and that are currently enlisted without partaking in Trump's propaganda ego-boosting dick-measuring parade. Attend your local hometown Memorial parade.

We just need to show up and be easily recognized as a somewhat cohesive group supporting the troops (something like the pink hat marchers, easy to recognize). The Democratic Party fights for the troops healthcare, education, housing assistance, military pay, consumer protection, etc. The GOP fights for the $$$$ for the weapons and MIC. The GOP believes like Rumsfeld, that people/troops are merely "fungible".
