I'm damned curious as to what Mueller saw within thirty days of his appointment that compelled him to expand the investigation.

I have to believe there were be some seriously dirty/stupid information in the transition emails.

When Robert Mueller was appointed Special Counsel, he took over the FBI investigation that had been going on for some time. He wasn't starting from scratch so in his first days, he probably already had overview of some of what Trump was up to.

If the whole story eventually comes out, it's going to be very ugly and possibly dangerous.

was going to happen anyway..thus in Rosensteins remarks about jurisdiction "matters that may arise" ..lovin' it!!!

which was ostensibly based on him lying to Pence about his activities during the transition, so it's likely he wanted to see what Flynn said at that time and what Pence really knew.
