Apparently the House doesn't allow a filibuster but the minority leader is given unlimited time as per custom. She was given one minute and took it 8 hours and 10 minutes. So proud of her.

really do? Republicans probably will just ignore everything she said. Does all that time really amount to any benefit?

She makes history advocating for the Dreamers.
She gives her fellow Representatives heart and courage.
She leads.
She gives tacit permission for her colleagues to speak out.
She lets Dreamers know the Democrats are trying for them.
She sets up talking points for the 2018 election.
She sets an example for women in government.
She sets an example for girls who might someday want to be in government.
She PERSISTS.

I think that makes it harder sell for Republicans to blame dems if there is no DACA deal. We don’t see any Republicans trying to help the dreamers.
