Adam Schiff comments on Rumps refusal to release Dem memo............

Adam Schiff

After ignoring urging of FBI & DOJ not to release misleading Nunes memo because it omits material facts, @POTUS now expresses concerns over sharing precisely those facts with public and seeks to send it back to the same Majority that produced the flawed Nunes memo to begin with:

Nunes' memo was a dud and discredited from nearly the moment it was released except with the Fox News viewers, who would believe the moon was made of green cheese if Trump said so. It would be nice to have the truth out, but that won't change the minds of the Fox News true believers.

b'gazi, email, leaker investigation trying to suck the air out of the news cycles.

Perhaps this is all part of the ploy - release the lame nunes pos, encourage a dem rebuttal, leak the rebuttal saying it was leaked by the dems while it was that hicks/sanders/conroy/etc. group that actually leaks it.

Those russkis/gops are mighty crafty!

that damaging information out and would be happy conduits. But won't be expecting Feinstein to give genuinely damaging information to any of them. She's a long-time intel committee member, chaired it for several years, and kind of hard-nosed on security.

He's doing a really good job and letting the public know what's going on. I'm sure that doesn't sit well with Ryan.

The Washington Examiner (a Repub slanted site?) wrote an article saying Nunes should be fired from the committee because he's too political....AND Schiff should be fired from it, too, for the SAME REASON! A warped argument, since Schiff isn't originating political statements. He's informing the public of what the Repubs and WH are doing/have done. Big difference.

But I fear for Schiff's placement on that committee.

much less our ranking member.

Certainly, as you yourself point out, the Republicans' false equivalence you've posted here IS a warped argument, and Schiff is merely using their own actions to expose them for the lying weasels they are.

Personally, I'd put my money on fearing for the Republicans on that committee.

Assignments are a big really deal. Members work toward desired positions for years.

Changes such as after elections, or even as occurred with two new members after Al Franken left, involve lots of moving people around and deal making. In that recent case, I believe a new committee position was created so that someone who had earned a right to position wasn't shorted.

In any case, they aren't the decision of any one person. At least not in the egalitarian Democratic Party.

The Repubs' organization is mostly top-down authoritarian. We don't do that.

rest of the leadership, kicking her power in their faces, they'd wonder if senility was setting in, certainly the only excuse they'd accept. But she's never behaved that way in all her years of leadership. Look at Schumer, same thing in the senate.

No Tom "The Hammer" Delays in our party. That's a Republican thing.

The people who rise to the top of our party are good at working with others to develop consensuses, and believe in their importance, or they don't get there. That's why Elizabeth Warren was positioned for swift elevation to leadership level and another big name from 2016 was not.

She doesn't have to run ramshod over anyone. She merely discusses the issue with Schiff and others she regularly consults, and then she makes a decision. That's her JOB.

You don't seem clear on the job of a party leader.

I doubt either party leader would go against a large # who disagree in his/her own party. But it's each leader's call. That's their JOB, and why they have that position. To make those decisions.

..... the House Intel Comm..

Just send Nunes off on an endless and meaningless goose chase. Gobble up all the productive time on crap/poop investigations that mean zero. Eventually run out the clock with nothing to show. Projecting tr-dump as the innocent victim who the Dems pick on again and again and deserves only our heart felt sympathy.

Then come election 2018 Russia is unimpeded to meddle the results to the favor and advantage of the Rethugs Nazi Party giving tr-dump a stronger political foot hold and control over our government.

The ability of our Democracy to sustain this attack is being tested. Only by voting in astronomical number this coming midterm election will we be able preserve this Democracy for our kids and grand children.
