You walk in expecting to take a role in government, stay for a few weeks, and then walk out smelling like cat crap and repelling everyone who might hire you. Rubbing up against Donald Trump has that effect on just about everyone.
The worst part is that a shower and the dry cleaners can't remove the odor. There should be a warning on that revolving door, I think.

(115,792 posts)But because many Trump appointees are incompetent, they can't do their actual jobs at all, even badly; and eventually this becomes so obvious that they get pushed out, only to be replaced with another numpty who's even worse than the first one. Reince Priebus was a terrible chief of staff; he was replaced by Kelly, who was going to make the trains run on time but he's terrible, too, but just a different kind of terrible. Ironically, Rob Porter was one of the few who was actually good at his job but he was a wife-beater who couldn't get a security clearance.
And the faster the revolving door spins, the fewer people will want to take the ride. In the future, anyone who ever worked for Trump will have a gap in their resume which they will try to explain away as a time in the Peace Corps or meditating in the Himalayas. Even a prison sentence would be less of a blot on one's CV than a record of employment in the Trump administration.

(146,324 posts)People who could do the jobs won't take them, and Trump and the rest are completely unqualified to find people who can do the jobs. So, they end up with lousy choices and don't even know it.
It is FUBAR.
