Stormy Daniels' manager has just released a statement that Cohen has violated the NDA by releasing information about the $130,000 payment. Daniels' manager/agent stated that she is now free to discuss her relationship with Trump.
Oh jeez, to be a fly on the wall!

(115,878 posts)and conceal dodgy financial transactions, which is what he also did to pay off Stormy Daniels, certainly at Trump's request. He's probably not used to having these transactions discovered and revealed, so he didn't have a credible cover story at the ready. Note, however, that he said: Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed me for the payment, either directly or indirectly, and that he also said he used his own funds to facilitate the payment, not that he made the payment itself with his own money. So he did use his legal skills, such as they are, to make a careful statement that didn't actually say what it was initially interpreted as saying.
But I agree that he's not a very good lawyer. A good lawyer wouldn't say he'd take a bullet for his client or do illegal things for his client; a good lawyer would objectively advise his client as to what he legally could and could not do. All Cohen really seems to know is how to cleverly lie, cheat and steal. I hope he goes down with his client. At a minimum he probably should be disbarred.

(82,849 posts)In fact, I'm thinking of contacting Mr. Cohen to ask if he couldn't "facilitate" a payment out of his own pocket on my behalf. GoCohenMe could give GoFundMe a real run for the money (if you know what I mean).

(3,515 posts)If this is investigated, he might have a problem.
Has he paid settlements for other clients from his personal account? Why?
This is, to say the least, unusual and needs to be checked into very carefully by maybe, say the Bar Association. Why would he have paid Stormy Daniels out of his own money? Did he have an affair with her? And did Trump reimburse him? Did he pay her out of money Trump paid him?
And who were the parties to the contract? It was Stormy Daniels and Cohen? It was Stormy Daniels and Trump?
Lots of questions about this.

You can have the best lawyer ever, but if you keep undermining his strategy, you will just lose on both sides : case and money...

2. He's a lawyer dumb enough to put up $130,000 of his own money and not get paid by the most notorious deadbeat of all: il Cheetolini.
