And the temps will drop tomorrow.
Bad news: my town is projected to only get about a tenth of an inch, the temps will drop into the 90's and the news reports already have admitted the crops are ruined for the year.

(28,762 posts)his yellow lab on my property. It took us over an hour to dig a hole 3 feet deep. Because the dirt is so hard and dry we needed a pick. Over the past two days there has been lots of rain 70 miles north of here, but nothing here. Dry as bone and hotter than hell!!

(5,231 posts)Haven't cut the grass all summer. It's just pulling weeds at this point; grass went dormant at least a month and a half ago, there is really no point...

(53,957 posts)I am in NE Oklahoma, so it is hot as hell here too. At least it isn't humid. Well, to natives of Oklahoma it may be, but from someone like me, who is from the deep South and just spent five years in NEw Orleans; this ain't humidity! It looks like fall here because so many lawns are dead and trees are losing leaves. I have two almost completely bald trees. It is really sad.
xmas74
(29,674 posts)and the leaves are all dead here too. There will be no pretty fall colors this year because they leaves won't last until October.
And it's in the nineties here too.

(29,674 posts)Flour would be a good one to stock. Good luck getting any corn-I can personally vouch for how awful the fields look.
