Taking a reasonable gun control stance will solidify much of Obama's urban base and he isn't going to lose any more votes due to guns than he already would have - the gun nuts already have the fast-and-furious-Obmama-UN conspiracy theories.

Now Romney is going to have to come out saying he isn't for any gun regs to try to hold on to his gun vote but he will be portrayed as flip flopper based on his Mass record.

Romney will also be put in the same untenable situation over his current and past stance on health care.

Then as Brother Buzz points out below, Romney makes it easy to portray him as a lying, uncaring sack of shit.

and of course Bain and tax returns, Bain and tax returns, rinse and repeat!
