And then blush when questioned about it in national debates or in venues where the Dinosaurs-in-the-Ark knuckle-draggers aren't the key constituency. This is THE election where we make it bite them in the ass. I'm sorry that it's cynical. I'm sorry that it's bigoted (it is). But Romney's Mormonism is laughable. Good lord, if evangelicals got even a decent whiff of what it teaches about God and Christ, they'd not go to the polls. Romney won't drink coffee, Coke, Mountain Dew, Pepsi. He thinks the Constitution is divinely inspired; o.k., this may not be a sore spot, but do you think independent, libertarian fiscal conservatives want to hear this? I don't want to be mean or to distort the man's faith; I just want voters to know a MAJOR cornerstone of Rmoney's worldview (which is the EXACT argument repubs. make in always talking about their faith). If Rev. Wright and Obama's church was on the table, if Kennedy's Catholicism was on the table, if Jimmy Carter's playboy confession was on the table, then Rmoney's Mormonism (in all of its batshit craziness and wonderful sense of community) needs to be out there. The repubs. don't want this AT ALL. They fear it, and their internals tell them why they need to fear it.
