America is no longer a Democratic Republic. It is a Hypocracy
Right wingers love to regurgitate the rhetoric "no law will stop them" that their brain washers have conditioned them to say whenever a discussion about sensible gun laws comes up. They say things like "mentally ill people will find a way to harm people even if they don't have AR 15's" and "you can't stop evil". If we applied that same logic to sports arenas, airport terminals, the Pentagon, White House, U.S. Capitol, court houses, and numerous other facilities that we actually care to protect, we wouldn't have security, law enforcement, metal detectors, etc. But for some reason we have laws and preemptive measures in place to avoid mass shootings in certain places and when certain people are involved. But when it comes to our defenseless children, teachers, and faculty, I guess we just shouldn't even try to do anything. Instead we should use the "no law will stop them" logic and rely on thoughts and prayers instead. Then some of them even suggest we arm fresh out of college 20 somethings and ask them to be responsible for teaching and protecting our children from active shooters. A textbook in their hands and a 9MM on their side. Do they even stop to picture these things in their heads? Meanwhile we don't even set the expectation that our trained and armor protected SWAT teams should just rush in and engage an active shooter with no regard for their own lives. They take tactical measures and go in as a team with a plan so they don't get injured or killed. Unbelievable.
Here's a thought, since "no law will stop them" and "you can't stop evil". Imagine if we removed the Secret Service, Capitol Police, security personnel, and technology from the U.S. Capitol and White House and just relied on thoughts and prayers to protect our legislators and President from "evil" and mentally ill people with AR 15's. And while we're at it, imagine if we told them that they should all just carry weapons and protect themselves if an evil or mentally ill person with an AR 15 tried to harm them. Because "a good buy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun". I'm sure Trump, Paul Ryan, and Mitch McConnell would gladly sign up for that. This is yet another example of how these immoral hypocrites wouldn't even dream of applying the same logic to their own lives that they impose on the people they are paid to represent.
Our government is a Hypocracy and our tax system just makes us players in a casino. The house takes our money and wins most of the time and here and there a lucky person gets a few scraps while the others are left with only thoughts and prayers. And just like Trump's casinos, our country is headed for bankruptcy if these con artists and thieves continue to run our government.
