You build the jigsaw puzzle from the edges and corners working inward, bit by bit. Occasionally, a few stray pieces will make a little bit of the picture but it's unclear where exactly they fit. But they are definitely a part of the picture.

Mr. Mueller is filling in the picture. Trump, Kushner, Sessions, Priebus, Pence and many others should be staring at the ceiling late into the night with fear and nervousness.

One observation about today's indictments of the Russians suggested that Assistant Attorney General Rod Rosenstein had taken a major step when he announced the indictments, (I think it was Josh Marshall of TPM). This public presentation made him the face of the investigation. By doing that, he takes tremendous pressure off of Robert Mueller. Further, it makes it even more difficult for Trump to derail the investigation by firing anyone. In fact, Trump has now had to admit that the Russians did interfere in our elections. This is something he has vehemently been denying since before the elections.

In order to endure the disasters we are living through, I have an image that I relish: Trump in his bedroom late at night pacing and muttering to himself. He's trying to think of ways to deflect or lie his way out of his troubles. And he can't figure it out! As the investigation grinds on and more individuals are indicted, the penultimate indictment is revealed: Jared Kushner. At this point, Trump knows he's finished and I won't tell you the end of my fantasy.

Ultimately, he's toast. It was the dumbest thing ever that he decided to run for president. His candidacy meant that eventually his personal finances would become public and it would expose his multitudinous frauds.

He's an idiot.
