Four Humongous Reasons Why Women Everywhere Should Have Access To Birth Control

At a recent conference co-hosted by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, governments and donor groups pledged to provide 120 million more women with access to contraception by 2020. We think this is crucial to empowering women around the world. So why is it still so controversial?!

Part of the reason this isn't a "duh" thing(and already in place) is that it's linked to economics. Almost every place birth control is available, population growth doesn't just go down, it goes negative.

Negative population growth means less consumers and workers- aka: negative growth. For some reason, having less than 3% compounded growth every year viewed as some sort of heretical sin. Ergo, there is not universal and safe birth control for everyone who wants it, and having babies is considered your social duty.

Why is it that when someone comes up with a stupid idea that benefits them, everyone else is supposed to follow? Are we secretly lemmings?
