He didn't pay any taxes...

Is there any doubt at all that the reason Mittens is withholding his returns is that he didn't pay any taxes, or paid an embarrassingly small amount of taxes, in one or more years prior to 2010? Given the pummeling that he's taking from both Democrats and Republicans, whatever is on those returns must be political poison.

And his response that he's "just following the precedent set by John McCain" is about as lame as can be. Watching the interview with Brian Williams, I don't think that even Romney believes his own bullshit. You'll follow the precedent of John McCain, but not the precedent set by your own father? You'll allow John McCain to look at 23 years of tax returns, but you won't let the American people see them?

If you have a moment today, please write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper, or if you listen to talk radio, call in and ask why we're not allowed full disclosure of Willard's finances. Why we should trust I guy who doesn't appear to trust us?

McCain released financial information every few years as a Senator.

I went Googling for information, but couldn't find it -- totally bogged down with links to the current issue.

I went with "senate financial disclosure reports" and just a few links down found this:

http://www.opensecrets.org/pfds/

Then search for McCain and go to other data tab to get here:

http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/otherdata.php?cycle=2012&cid=N00006424&type=I

Click on View full personal finance disclosure and you end up here:

http://www.opensecrets.org/pfds/candlook.php?CID=N00006424

Then you can pick a year from 1995 thru 2011. I don't know if it goes back any further. I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

He's unfit for the highest office in the land until he proves his fitness.

at BEST. What of '08 and '09?

And I'm not so sure that what Romney gave McCain was complete or honest. Look at how he back-tracked and amended his 2010 return.

Something is VERY off about his taxes. Even if he has stuck to the 'letter of the law'.

Who would enter into a partnership with someone who in effect, is saying "you wouldn't be able to judge for yourself that I've done nothing wrong, and there isn't anything that would cause you to decide against me hidden those tax returns"?

No, I'm sorry, but I will NOT allow you to conduct a criminal background check on me.

So can I have the job?

"Trust me, my references all say I'm superior... there is no reason to see them, so I won't be giving you access to them."

If people can support this kind of arrogant evasiveness they really don't give a shit about anything except defeating Pres. Obama at any cost to themself or the world.
