My town is having sleet and freezing rain following our run at 80 this weekend.

My dogs just ran out and slid off the porch.

It kills well established trees and bushes. They start to bud out and wham it drops to the 20s for five days. Temps like this have wiped out all my spring fruiting plum trees. Now I try to only plant summer and fall fruiting plants, even some of them get wiped out.

And usually if it gets this warm in Feb, it's going to be hell in July.

Then the birds and butterflies migration patterns get all messed up so that when they get here the bugs aren't here or vice versa. And the pollinators come out too soon and die. And the sudden temp swings are tough on the animals, causing pneumonia because they have already shed their winter coats.

I hate global climate change,

We had some of those last year.

We had a frozen fog last year it was ice crystals floating in the air. I took pictures but it just looked like a regular fog. You had to be in it to see the ice crystals dancing around.

Seems to be depositing layer upon layer with bursts of freezing rain showers. Could get really heavy on my giant oak tree. Yikes!

I saw a freezing fog once in Arkansas. The roads looked perfectly normal, but were coated with an invisible sheet of ice, that offered NO traction. I backed out my driveway, and slid straight across into my neighbor's 100 year old crepe myrtle. She was not pleased with me. There were hundreds of wrecks all over that smallish town that day.

so the 70s are welcome.

(although some of these plants need to stay dormant a little longer so they don't get blown away by an April frost/freeze)

Imagine a cartoonist like Sack drawing: Mueller under the White House stoking a fire, maybe in a boiler room or otherwise, and tRump inside the WH tweeting "Global warming is a Chinese hoax!".

We have had only 25% of the rain we would normally get by this time each year in Southern CA. I hav 7 mosquito bites and allergies galore. This SUCKS! I am clad Climate Change is a hoax.
