protect this moron. This is front page news in England!! What does CNN have on their front page:
Interview with Piers Morgan " Stop attacking success" . Wow, this is incredible. I can not imaging if Obama had made the
same gaffes in 2008 what would have been printed and discussed 24/7 ad nauseum about how unprepared he was for the
world stage.
Mitt gets a pass, why is he getting away with these gaffes and not releasing his tax returns????

(3,845 posts)When the rightwing candidate is leading, they still operate with their same bias. They deliver rightwing propaganda regardless of who is ahead because their owners want rightwing propaganda to be delivered.

(3,069 posts)I'd think. Anyone going there looking for news of Romney's self destruction in London will click away when they can't find it. I think they are losing a lot more than they gain rating-wise.

(12,461 posts)It is because they miss the big stories, no one watches them. We have computers to glean the news from around the world. We are the media...They have to catch up to us.

(10,558 posts)I heard cnn was switching their focus to more international topics in order to reinvigorate their ratings. Must have heard wrong I guess.

(1,374 posts)wants this to be a close race due to corporate influence and greed for ratings/money. They need the most advertising as possible because their ratings are low. A close race will do that, plus corporate interests favor Romney so they won't see their taxes go up and will have less regulation.
They've been covering for Romney a lot recently when so many stories have broken that could hurt his campaign. They almost always try to spin things in his favor. Even yesterday when they brought up the adviser's racist comments CNN tried to go after the O campaign for responding to a report from an anonymous source in a foreign newspaper.

(7,968 posts)The people who make the decisions on what to cover are Romney supporters. I've come to the conclusion that CNN is fairly far to the right of the standard mainstream media.

(45,002 posts)The networks (even our beloved MSNBC) are running ads
from both sides and both sides are spending like crazy.
It's in their self-interest to keep the race dramatic and close
to increase viewership and attract more ad dollars (online and off).
We're being played.

(17,266 posts)They can't have Romney looking like a clown at diplomacy and statesmanship. I think most in this thread have covered the 'whys' pretty well.
